Established in 1999 with the support of the Siem Reap Forestry Administration and local authorities, the Chansar community-based tourism initiative includes 268 members from 59 families, with 135 female members. Spanning a forestry area of 93 hectares, Chansar is divided into several key areas, including management and protection.
The community offers various attractions for local and international tourists. These include trekking through the forest, experiencing local culture, oxcart rides, and rattan basket weaving. Visitors can also participate in grass broom production, visit an organic plantation, cross a cable bridge, observe wildlife, explore the local fauna and flora, camp, and enjoy the area’s natural beauty.
